Alexander Charles Director networks with Titans of the Sporting World
A recruitment firm is only as good as its network of top professionals and every recruiter worth their salt knows that anyone could become a client or a candidate. It was therefore with great anticipation that Kelvin Trott, Director of Alexander Charles Associates attended a networking event at the London Sporting Club, the UK’s first invitation only private members’ club for those associated with the profession at its highest level. Michael Johnson took a break from his busy commentating schedule at the World Athletics Championships to host the lunch for 80 guests at Mayfair’s Morton’s Club.
The four time Olympic gold medallist and eight time world champion regaled guests with stories from the pinnacle of his success between 1991 and 2000, during which he enjoyed fame as the world’s greatest athlete. He shared his inspirational story of the traumatic misfortunes early in his career and how he overcame these to achieve global success, as well as describing the controversies of the Athletic World Championships currently taking place in London. Johnson was supported by a constellation of other sporting stars including former Olympic 400m women’s champion Christine Ohuruogu, NBA star John Amaechi, former world swimming champion Karen Pickering, rugby legend Jason Leonard, and football managers Alan Pardew and Alex McLeish.
