Alexander Charles Associates (ACA) have great pleasure in announcing that our charity of the year for 2023 is Ahoy. We are very proud to support Ahoy’s vision to change people’s lives through sailing and rowing.

Ahoy’s mission is to become a Flagship Learning Centre using the River Thames as a pathway to provide opportunities for the community and those at-risk, disadvantaged or with learning disabilities. Through sailing, rowing and related learning activities we aim to break down social barriers, develop essential life skills, confidence and pride.

They achieve their mission through a variety of programmes designed to empower, upskill and support those who access the opportunities which Ahoy provides. The Shipmates programme offers youths the opportunity to gain life skills and qualifications through watersports. Disabled people can access wand land based activities teaching new skills to increase confidence and independence. There is also an apprenticeship programme which is an accredited scheme for ages 16-24 offering training and qualifications to develop transferable life-skills and increase employment success. Ahoy offers schools innovative activities and programmes delivering qualifications and experiences to assist learning development, self confidence and communication. Finally, Ahoy is an RYA accredited centre, offering a range of RYA courses in Powerboating, Sailing and Rowing.

ACA very much looks forward to this partnership and to supporting Ahoy in raising much needed funds and awareness for their valuable work. Further details of the Oarsome Challenge 2023, will appear on this website and our socials shortly.
